Rechargeable Lightbulbs Are My Favorite Home Update
As a lover of antiques, most of the lamps around my home are vintage, which means I’ve dealt with my fair share of sketchy wiring or fixtures that just don’t work at all. One of my most recent lighting purchases (a jadeite lamp from the ’40s) led me to discover a “bright” and cost-effective alternative that allowed me to place my new lamp wherever I wanted, no outlet or electricity required.
The BoRccdit cordless bulbs are such an unbelievably easy and practical solution, I’m truly shocked I never thought to look for them sooner. Rechargeable using a conventional USB plug system, these smart lights screw in perfectly to all my standard lamps, including the vintage sconces I have on my walls, which have consistently caused me trouble.
This type of wireless operation means that I’m never tied down to one specific location for my lamps and am no longer at the mercy of electrical outlets, which are few and far between in my pre-war apartment. The convenience of unlimited location choice also extends to outdoor areas, in case you want to do any backyard entertaining during the summer. Just screw the bulbs on the included hooks and hang them wherever you want.
Each dimmable bulb turns on, either manually using a touch button on the front of the bulb or using the slim remote, which offers a full range of lighting control that you wouldn’t normally get with conventional light bulbs.
You can choose from four different brightness levels and three different lighting temperatures, including two warm settings for creating a cozy and ambient environment. As someone who cannot stand overly bright, cold lighting, this is probably one of my favorite bulb aspects.
Unlike conventional bulbs, the BoRccdit smart bulbs can be programmed on timers, a feature that I utilize often. Choose between 15, 30, 60 or 120 minute intervals, and you’ll never have to worry about accidentally falling asleep or leaving the house with the lights still on.
One of the main reviewer complaints that I seem to notice about these lightbulbs is that they don’t last very long. I wouldn’t say that’s necessarily true to my experience. According to the maker, they can last up to 20 hours per charge, depending on the level and temperature you choose. It also doesn’t take very long for the bulbs to reach complete charge — possibly two hours at most. But, if you’re impatient like me, you can purchase multiple like I did, so one bulb is always ready on deck to replace your dead one. They are sold individually or in multi-packs of up to six, based on your lighting needs.
Reviewers also expressed how handy these bulbs were in the event of a power outage, while others said these are a good, cost-effective alternative for cutting down on their electricity bill.
Right now, you can redeem two 15%-off coupons on the Amazon product page to save a total of 30% on the BoRccdit lightbulbs. But if my endorsement wasn’t enough to convince you that these are worth the buy, keep reading to hear from other reviewers.

“What’s not to like? The power went out for a few hours the first week i got this! Guess what?! At my place, the lights are on, and i am home! Lol! The envy of my friends. My friend even decided that these will make excelled Christmas presents! (It’s good for our environment and power consumption, too)!” — Christina Dahl
“Very impressed with these rechargeable bulbs. With the cost of electricity, this is the way to go. I had an old, worn cord on a decorative lamp that I was going to rewire, but no need for that task and expense. These bulbs work just as described. The remote is simple to use and the light is easily adjustable from dim to bright. It will make a fun bedroom light. Love it!” — Shara
“Bought these on a whim because keeping flashlights accessible at all times without kids playing with them or misplacing them isn’t always practical. These work great for emergency use and also perfect if you are wanting a functional lamp with a remote to turn off and on or just to have a different lighting option for the mood. Great quality, charged quick and a long lasting battery.” — Bailey
“I bought this beautiful old antique lamp but I’m too afraid to plug it in since it is old. I screwed on the battery operated lightbulb and it works perfectly! I love how it comes with a remote so I can control the brightness and set a timer when to shut off. Also, I can choose between white bright light or soft warm light.” — Vivian
